James B. Emmett

James B. Emmett born in December 1985 is an American illustrator, painter and digital sequential artist. James was born in New York City, New York. A Communication Design major at Pratt Institute he studied illustration with instructors:  Floyd Hughes, Lynne Foster, Rudy Gutierrez, and Veronica Lawlor.

In March 2010, James collaborated with writer Robert James Russell on Ex Occultus: Seal of Solomon which was published by Saint James Comics. This first initial story was a completely illustrated job as it involved penciling, inking, adding digital tone work, and even lettering the entire story. Ex Occultus follows the exploits of adventurer and fortune-hunter Francis Wakefield, the gruff and grizzled Englishman with a tortuous past.

Following the release of Ex Occultus, James started promoting his work at various conventions and met Mark Mazz, chief creative officer of AtlasUnleased at Stony Brook University’s I-CON Science Fiction 29. This chance encounter lead James to be one of the illustrators for an upcoming science-fiction graphic album titled, 2112: Storyteller.

In  April 2010, James co-created the online strip Brink with fellow Marvel Intern alumni,  Daniel Erenberg. Brink is the story of Marty Theodore Roosevelt High School student, Marty Brown and his formerly super-heroic parents.

James is currently at work on another comic venture titled Spindle with Gordon Hurley, keep an eye on his twitter account for all updates.
